DYI Fringe

Fringe skirts .. how can I begin to describe fringe skirts. They have become one of our guilty pleasures (admit it). And I being the huge skirt fan that I have become went on the hunt for a good spring skirt. This skirt did not look like this when it first caught my eye at a vintage shop months ago along with a Ralph Lauren one I scored for a good price. Since I personally did't not like the fact that it was too long and I stepped on it (sorry I'm short).

So since I had yet to have my needs fulfilled with having a fringe skirt in my closet I decided to make one. I sat for a while and thought deeply of how bad I could mess it up but then the thought creeped that this specific skirt wasn't very expensive (compared to the Ralph Lauren one) and that I could do something I really liked to it. I went for it dug through all my sewing supplies, found my scissors and went for it. The result.. a few miss cuts here and there which are not noticeable at all now when the entire skirt is finished and is flowing freely.  So after a painstaking hour of cutting and making sure I didn't cut crooked I was excited to try it on and I have to tell you it was well worth it. So the end result seven dollars can get you a spring skirt to love. Get your shopping on, and bring out those scissors. My sandals are from Charlotte Russe but they are sold out (sad face) Oh and did I mention I did not map out my lines to cut? Lol What do you guys think? Would you wear this or try it at home? Let me know! Also I had to do a little dance to show you guys how it flows hehe.

Lace up Ballet Flats

This morning as I sat in the Library before heading to my speech communications class, I sat down to check out what was new. I cant quite remember how I ended up on PopSugar but, I am overly glad that I did because I found what already is a huge shoe obsession or as I like to call it Shoebsession for this Spring! Flats have always been a more comfortable yet, still stylish way to dress up outfits and now with this new and improved little up grade that brands like Tibi, Valentino, Michael Kors and Jeffrey Campbell decided to show at their fashion shows.
The fashion community is raving with excitement! I am one of those people overly excited about the pointe lace up flats. I honestly have to say that I am obsessed with these flat and, am seriously considering buying a pair. The prices are different everywhere. If you get the high end designers like Valentino or Tibi which I love you will pay around 700 but if you try to find them somewhere for less because you are more interested in the style rather than the brand name then you can save lots ! It all depends on your budget plan. P.S. Lace up shoes are totally in for this Spring so if you find something else that is lace up then you are most definitely on the right to being trendy this Spring and transitioning into summer !  Let me know what you guys thing of this new trend Yay or Nay? Would you wear them? Also check out more pictures on pop sugar which is were i got some of these pictures from. The link is above just click the name. I linked as many sites to find these as I could affordable ones and if you want to treat yourself the higher end designs. Because I love you guys and want you to look fabulous hehe. :)

Standard Diner Albuquerque

There is a lot to be said about Downtown, Albuquerque .. But in a few words its underdeveloped, I am not here to sham on the this area of the city it is just unexpectedly so much different than you would imagine. But as previously stated I am not here to say never visit. I love finding variety, when it comes to eating somewhere whether its in the atmosphere of the place, the selection of the menu, the friendly staff or good prices for good food portions.

This place in Albuquerque exactly 15 plus hrs from home is more than what I expected after arriving. Located on Central Ave, Standard Diner gives off a very kind of homey feeling with their modern rustic decor. The diner known for their bourbon butter burger, does not disappoint. It has a varied selection of wines from various U.S. states, other countries, locally made wine, and even organic wine. it keeps you engaged with the friendly staff who constantly makes sure that you have everything you want at your table.

For beer fanatics, the beverage menu also features over 10 locally brewed beers on tap with interesting names such as the "Alien Amber Ale", "Monk's Ale", and another cleverly named "A Slice Of Hefen".

The best part in my opinion has got to be the extensive amount of food selection in their dinner, breakfast, lunch, kids, and dessert menu. A lot of places lack an extensive selection of menu items but that is not the case with Standard Diner.

I would say you get more than what you paid for in food portions, because of the simple fact that nothing on the menu is over $15 unless you order some kind of seafood, steak or specialty dish. If you find yourself  in Downtown Albuquerque and starving for some good food or desserts made from scratch, or maybe if you are on the quest of finding some really good locally brewed beers, locally made desserts, (such as their yuzu cheesecake) or just a great experience. Then Standard Diner is totally the place for you to go !!! I loved it here (since I am sitting in it as I write this lol) I am  look forward to coming to Albuquerque again just to eat here. And it is very rare for me to be genuinely excited about a lot of places for multiple reasons. But I wouldn't mind driving 15 hrs again or maybe i'll fly next time haha. Regardless this is definitely a place that is worth the visit. What do you guys think? Have you been to Standard Diner before? Let me know belooow !            xx -Steph
